| You Are a Blueberry Muffin |
![]() Of all the types, you are the most likely to make your own muffins at home. You don't like to rock the boat, and you're most content when you're making everyone else happy. You are very loyal. You'll defend your family and friends, even if you secretly disapprove of what they're doing. You tend to be a bit shy and withdrawn. You don't make friends quickly or easily. But once you do make a good friend, the chances are high that you'll be friends for life. |

Well, so I've got around 15,000 words written. The plot is jumbled, dare I even say non-existent - but I'm finding the entire process so amazing and cathartic. Aiming to do a bit more tonight -- we'll see though, have got a LOT of other work.
Here's my counter! :)

Also LOVE this song today. Coldplay is an extraordinary band. I love the way they mix up this very post-post-modern feel with all these small touches which feel really, really old. There is probably a more musical way to say that. :)

I'm starting a new tradition. Every Thursday I'm going to post a song that has been in my playlist recently, plus the inspiration. If I'm not too lazy and get some neighborhood encouragement maybe it even warrants a group. :) Hope you will join in people. :)
Mary J Blige. The real video has right issues, so I can't post it, but it's here. Last week I said goodbye to someone I really loved.

Things I'm grateful for today:
Here are the speeches. I'm including the race speech here, because I have to confess I haven't listened to it before now -- I've held onto a lot of cynicism throughout this political cycle, even though I campaigned for and raised money for Obama. It still seemed like politics as usual. But maybe it's not. The past eight years have brought many events engendering disillusionment, in the public and political sphere, as well as in my private one. I think we are all ready to turn the page. :) Me too, and I can't wait to embrace hope and leave cynicism behind. One person can make a difference... look at this race, and the excitement and hope in the eyes of millions. That is new, and was not here yesterday. Yes, it's a beginning, but change is real... and it is happening.

OK, I know this is the silliest thing in the world, but I stumbled across this site today, and have been so amused at the "randomness" generators. A writing teacher used to give us random pictures to write about, and apparently random things are very right-brained (ahem). One day, I wish I had the time to write a story with some of these elements (all are samples of the output of the site).

And in case I decide to include any pirate ships or imaginary sciences:

More theater of the absurd from John McCain.... except these aren't campaign moments, this is "Live from New York!" And my *favorite* VP candidate - I even dressed up as her for Halloween. Very scary. wink ;)
